OLW129- All in a Row

Welcome to another week for the OLW challenge (One Layer Wednesday).  This week the challenge is:

All in a Row- create a card with a row of anything

I love the look of a card with a repeated pattern on it, so find a stamp you can use to create a row on your card.  My cute coffee cup is from Paper Smooches and the sentiment is from Whipper Snapper.  I stamped my cups in a row and just coloured one of them and added a small piece of scrap red to the base for interest.  I also added some scoring under the sentiment.

OLW129 Rules

1. Create a one-layer card.  That is defined as a single layer of card stock folded in half. No other layers
    allowed!
2. Make a card that has an image done in a row.  Remember to keep embellishments to a minimum and
NO ADDITIONAL LAYERS of card stock.
3. Post your card online and link it to the InLinkz button underneath.  If you link to your blog, please link to
the specific post, not your blog’s main page.
4. HAVE FUN! I am looking forward in seeing what you create!

Spring's Arrival

I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring's Arrival.  Guess I can say that and dream about it as we are about to get blasted by a big winter storm here tomorrow.  Anyways, who doesn't love seeing the poppies starting to bloom in all their glory.  I love this new stamp from Penny Black.
I am playing along with with the CAS challenge at Splitcoast today.  An easy card; I stamped the poppies, coloured them with Copics and cut them out using a Spellbinders die.  I added a scoring line around the outside keeping my card very clean and simple.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Joyful

Joyful describes me mucking around and playing with my Distress inks again.  That is how I created this background for the Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast today.  I applied my Distress ink pad directly to my non-stick pad and sprayed with water.  I ran my paper through the wet ink to make the bkg.  When it was dry, I stamped over it with a bkg. stamp.  I stamped the Bed of Roses background stamp in black Memento ink and cut out the roses.  I left them white to highlight them against the yellow, orange and greens.
Love my new sentiments from Paper Smooches too.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

The Sun's Reflection

Put down the blue ink pad!!!!!   Amazing eh?   There is not a speck of blue on today's card; the yellow makes me feel happy and wanting Spring.
Anyways, I am playing along with 2 challenges today.  One is the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and the other is at CASology inspired by the word 'FLAME'.  I took the word 'FLAME' as a colour inspiration and inked my stamps with Distress inks in yellow and orange.  I sprayed them with water before stamping so the colours would blend nicely together.  I cut out the panels so I could pop dot them onto my card.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Imagination Takes Flight

Today's card was based on a quote as a challenge.  Here it is:

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything."

Well my imagination did take flight when I got out my Distress inks and started to play.  I created the background by rubbing the blue Distress ink pads onto my non-stick craft sheet, sprayed with water and then put the paper through the ink. When it was dry, I stamped in the circles, musical notes and the sentiment. I had a piece of the bkg. left over so stamped it with sheet music first then over-stamped the butterfly and cut it out so I could pop dot it onto my card.
Thanks so much for coming by to take a peek.  Have a good week.

Supplies:  stamps; Penny Black, Inkadinkadoo/ Distress inks/ non-stick craft sheet/ gems/ pop dots

Friends are a Blessing

Here is a card that I made using a stamp from the new Penny Black set called Every Happiness  This set has a number of these tiles so this card could be re-created into many different version.
I inked the leaf tile then stamped repeatedly to create my background.  I stamped the leaf again, this time embossing with clear to make it more of a focal point and then cut it out.  I added the sentiment from the other new set called Friendship.

Supplies:  stamps; Penny Black/ Corner Chomper/ pop dots/ twine

Backgrounds Making a Comeback

Penny Black has just released some new background stamps and this is one called Sweetness that I used to create this card.  I love the look of the big chunky flowers...so easy work with too.  Here is what I did.

I inked the stamp with Versamark then embossed the piece with white.  When cool, I painted the flowers and stems with Distress inks and a water pen.  Just rub some ink directly from your ink pad onto an acrylic block then pick up the colour with a water pen or you could use a paint brush and water and paint the open areas that are not embossed.  I love that you can vary the colour using the inks.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look...hope you have a great weekend.

Supplies:  stamps; Penny Black/ eb powder/ Versamark/ pop dots/ Scor-bug/ pop dots

Happy Mail

Happy Friday!!  Here is a card I made for the Free 4 All challenge at Splitcoast today; (use one of your favourite colours);  the CAS-ual Fridays challenge; (use black, white and one other colour) and the CASology challenge; (use red).  This little envie is so cute and easy to create.  Here is what I did.I stamped the image from Imaginisce onto a piece of gingham paper so I could paper piece the bottom portion.  I stamped it again onto white then coloured the heart, cut it out and pop dotted it onto the bottom part.  This sentiment from Stampotique works just perfectly.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a peek.

Scent of a Rose

Happy Saturday.  Today I am playing along with 3 challenges.  The Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast got me thinking (see below)....the theme at Cas-ual Fridays is Love Song (Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi) and last but not least, the challenge at CASology is Fairytale (the oldest version of Snow White and Rose Red her sister by Brothers Grimm).
I began by creating my bkg.  I did that by rubbing Distress inks in pink onto my cardstock with a sponge in a circular motion, adding water with my water pen to blend.  I then stamped my rose from a large background stamp called Bed of Roses by Penny Black, cut one of the roses out and coloured it with Distress inks and again my water pen.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.  Hope you have a great weekend.  So wonderful to see the sun shining today after a major snow storm yesterday.

I cut a snowflake mask, attached it to my cs then sprayed with Mr. Huey's mist then added splats of white. After removing the mask when all was dry, I added the sentiment Milestones from Penny Black, rubbed Distress inks on the edges and then doodled a border.

Supplies:  stamps; Penny Black/ black Memento/ Die-namics snowflake/ pearl/ Mr. Huey's mist

Polka Dot Sprigs and Vibrant Colours

Happy Sunday...sure hope you are enjoying your weekend.  It goes by too quickly doesn't it??  Today, I am featuring 2 cards I made for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast and the challenges going
on at Moxie Fab...create a window card.
Here is what I did.  I created the main panel by using drawing circles with my Copics and then adding alcohol to blend.  I then stamped the new Polka Dots Sprig from Penny Black with black Memento ink..love polka dots. I cut a window using a square Spellbinders die so it would look like the piece is framed. I pop dotted the main image inside the window cutout and added the sentiment Thanks a Bunch.

Here is the second one I made but I am entering this one in the Moxie Fab; create your own Background.
Still playing with my Copic markers, I coloured a grid pattern on my cs then dropped blending fluid drips to leave an impression. I then went back when the piece was dry, and stamped the Hillflowers from Penny Black and embossed them in black. I added twine for a simple card.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look today.

The Seashore

Today, I am featuring a card I made for the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast and the Create Your Own Background challenge at Moxie Fab
I created the two main panels on the side by inking my acrylic block with Distress inks and spraying with water before stamping. Using the same colours of blue and a smaller piece of cardstock, I simple applied ink directly from my pads onto the paper.  I then stamped the image from Inkadinkadoo, flicked water drops onto the piece and added some highlights by removing some of the ink on the image with my water pen.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Supplies:  stamps; Inkadinkadoo, The Craft's Meow/ Distress inks/ pop dots/ acrylic block

Big and Bold

Big and bold birthday wishes....works well for a masculine card don't you think??  This was an easy one to create.  I used different colours of ink and added splotches and shapes just to the right hand side of the card in fun colours.  I stamped the sentiment from Woodware, cut it out then pop dot mounted it between scored lines I made with my Scorbug.
Hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks so very much for dropping in.

Supplies:  stamps; Woodware-sentiment, Recollections, Inkadinkadoo/ pop dots/ twine/ coloured inks
